Delta State Celebrates World Population Day

This year's World Population Day celebration was celebrated in Asaba recently. The State Governor Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan who was the Special Guest of Honour at the ceremony that held at Unity Hall, Government House, Asaba was represented by his deputy.

The United Nation's Organization has set aside July eleven every year to mark World Population Day to draw attention to the state of the Worlds' population and issues related to the quality of the ever increasing population of the world.

The theme of this year's celebration is, "It's right let's make it real."

It focuses on the urgent need to re-energize family planning Programmes in the world as a strategy for healthy living and sustainable development. Activities slated for the day include lecture and drama presentation' on the theme for the celebration, which is being organized by the United Nations Population Fund, UNFPA.
