A Banker, Financial Consultant and Entrepreneur, Dr. Kingsley Eze Emu has had a distinguished career in the private sector spanning over 23 years before his appointment as the Honourable Commissioner for Commerce & Industry in July 2011 through October, 2014. He is currently the Honourable Commissioner for Economic Planning in Delta State. He worked in the banking Industry for 21 years starting from the Central Bank of Nigeria in 1989, through merchant/investment banks, and finally commercial banks. His experiences within these years spanned significant knowledge in Treasury and financial services as a manager,   credit and marketing as an Assistant General Manager, investment banking as a General Manager and consumer and retail businesses as a Group Executive. He was also the managing Partner of KAME Benefits Ltd, a consulting firm with specialty in financial Advisory and Organizational diagnosis.

Born on December 27, 1959, to the Emu family of Owanta in Ika North East local government of Delta State, Kingsley proceeded with his educational pursuit where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology in 1986, Masters of Science degree Industrial Sociology in 1988, and a Masters in Managerial Psychology (MMP) in 2000 all from University of Ibadan.  He was a pioneer student of ESUT Business School Lagos where he obtained  a Masters in Business Administration (Marketing) in 1997 and a doctorate degree in management with specialization in organizational leadership from University of  Phoenix Arizona in United States in 2012.

Dr Emu also participated in several professional improvement programs that has helped his career  given the dynamic operating environment. He is an alumnus of  the prestigious Goizueta Business Leadership School,  Emory University Atlanta Georgia and Harvard Business School Boston in the United States of America.  He also  attended a course “Leading the Effective Sales Force”  in  Wharton , University of Pennsylvania , U.S.A.  Given the growing influence of  technology in businesses he attended between October 20-24,2008, a course on “Exploiting CHIP+PIN+LOYALTY Business Opportunities for Competitive  Advantage in Emerging Markets” Organised by InterSwitch Ltd in Dubai.

Kingsley’s core competences include Strong leadership  and  execution skills, Strong background in  banking  spanning credit and marketing, Remedial Assets Management,  Treasury and financial services, Product Development skills,and   good background in planning and strategic management.

He is a good and committed community activist, a mentor, a Christian, an avid golfer and married with children.
