2010 PUBLIC SERVICE COMPETITIVE EXAMINATION INTO THE

It is hereby announced for the information of the general public, particularly Deltans, that the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON) will conduct the 2010 Public Service Competitive Examination for entry into the Administrative and Special Departmental Cadres in the Delta State Civil Service on Thursday 25"' and Friday 26th January, 2010.
The following posts are open for competition:

(i) Administrative Officer Grade II, GL.08
(ii) Auditor Grade II GL. 08
(iii) Accountant Grade II, SGL. 08
(iv) Registrar of co-operative Societies II, SGL. 08
(v) Produce Officer Grade II SGL. 08
(vi) Inspector of Taxes Grade II SGL. 08

To be eligible for the examination, candidates should posses a University degree in any of the following disciplines: Political Science, Psychology, Public Administration, Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, Law, Arts, Humanities, Agriculture and Biological Science.

Interested applicants are advised to obtain the entry forms from the Department of Recruitment and Promotions, Civil Service Commission, No. I Victor chuka Odogwu crescent, opposite St. Brigids Girls grammar School Asaba, after payment of N5,000 (Five thousand naira) non — refundable fee payable in Bank draft to the Commission's Zenith Bank Account No.6114105694 or Unity Bank Account No. 341337586130.Entry forms will be available as from Tuesday 8th September, 2009.

The closing date for the return of completed form is Tuesday 22, December, 2009. Entry forms submitted after the closing date will not be processed.

Results of Common Entrance Examination Into Model Schools In Delta State Released

The results of the Common Entrance Examination into the twenty Model Secondary Schools and Delta Secondary School, Warri have been released.

A statement issued today in Asaba by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Basic and Secondary, Mr. Ifeanyi Agbeyeke advised candidates that sat for the examination to check their result in the Model Secondary School of their choice in the offices of the Chief Inspectors of Education nearest to them.

Mr. Agbeyeke said that supplementary entrance examination into J.S.S. One and S.S. One in the twenty Model Secondary Schools now running both Boarding and Day Schools was still in progress and therefore enjoined interested candidates to avail themselves of the opportunity.

He said prospective candidates must possess at least a pass in the Cognitive/Placement Examination for those applying into J.S. One while candidates for admission into J.S. Two and S.S. Two must have passed the promotion examination in J.S. One and S.S. One and those applying into S.S. One must possess the Junior School Certificate.

The Permanent Secretary said the application forms for admission could be obtained from the offices of the chief Inspectors of Education in the various local Government Areas, offices of the Principals of the Model Schools as well as the Examination and Standards Department, Ministry of Education, Basic and Secondary, No. 14, Governor Street, West End, Asaba with the payment of one thousand naira only.

The entrance examination, according to him, will take place on Saturday, 5"' September beginning at nine in the morning at Saint Patrick's College, Asaba, Baptist Girls' High School, Agbor, Notre Dame College, Ozoro, Government College, Ughelli, Our Lady's High School, Effurun, Chude Girls Grammar School, Sapele, Delta Secondary School, Warri, Mater Del Grammar School, Ashaka and Unity School, Agbarho.

Staff of Ministry of Agriculture, The Judiciary (High Court and Customary Court), Boards and Parastatal and SUBEB Headquarters staff to receive physical payment in the month of July, 2009, using Biometrics.

The Sub-committee on Development and Management of Integrated Payroll System has selected the Ministry of Agriculture, The Judiciary (High Court and Customary Court), Boards and Parastatal and SUBEB Headquarters staff for physical payment in the month of July, 2009, using Biometrics.

According to a statement signed by the head of the Civil Service Dr. S. O. Okporkpor, the exercise is scheduled to commence on Wednesday August 5 and will last till Saturday August 18 2009.

All staff of the aforementioned Departments and Agencies (MDAs) is to appear at the scheduled venue and date with the original copies of the following documents.
1. Official/National ID card
2. Letter of Last/Present Promotion
3. Letter of 1st Appointment
4. Letter of Confirmation of Appointment
5. Letter of Introduction by Head of MDA
6. Last Pay Slip
7. Verified Bank Account No.
8. 2 Passport Photograph

The Head of each affected MDAs should nominate an officer, not below salary grade level 14, to be at each centre during the period of the exercise to work with the team.
The schedules for the payment are as follows:

Asaba Zone, this includes Oshimili South, Aniocha North and Aniocha South will take their turn on Wednesday August 5, 2009 at St. Patrick Model Secondary School (S.P.C.) Asaba.

On Thursday August 6, 2009 Kwale Zone which includes Ndokwa East, Ndokwa West, Isoko South and Isoko North will take theirs at Utagba-Ogbe Grammar School-Kwale while Ughelli Zone which comprises of Ughelli South, Ughelli North, Bomadi, and Patani will have theirs at Government College, Ughelli on the same date.

Warri Zone which is Warri South Warri, Warri South West, Uvwie, Burutu and Udu will on Friday August 8, 2009 at Our Lady’s High School Effurun take their turn while Sapele Zone which comprises of Sapele, Ethiope East, Etshiope West, Warri North and Okpe will on Saturday August 8, 2009 at Sapele Technical College Sapele take theirs.

Agbor Zone which is Ika South, Ika North East and Ukwani will take theirs at Mary Mount College Agbor on the same date.

The statement further emphasized that no cash payment will be made during the exercise, as all payment will be done electronically to the account numbers supplied by each officer.

Uduaghan to Commission 200 Buses to Ease Mass Transit on Thurs 16/07/09

It hereby announced for the information of the General Public, particularly Deltans, that His Excellency, Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, Governor of Delta State, will on Thursday, July 16, 2009 commission the 100 unit buses recently acquired by the State Government to boost the State urban Mass Transit Scheme.

2. The ceremony will take place at the Commissioner's quarters, government House Road, Asaba at 2:00pm.

3. Accordingly, top government functionaries, Permanent Secretaries, chairman and members of statutory boards and commissions and stakeholders in mass transit businesses in the state are by this announcement invited to attend the ceremony.

Oma Djebah Sets Up Five Man Panel to Investigate DBS Warri Fire Incidence

It is hereby announced for the information of the general `public that the State Commissioner for Information, Mr. Oma Djebah, has constituted a five man Administrative Panel to investigate the remote and immediate causes of the fire incident which occurred at the Delta Broadcasting Service Warri, on Sunday June 14, 2009.

3. The Panel has the following terms of reference:

(i) Ascertain the remote and immediate causes of the fire incident
(ii) Ascertain the extent of damage done to properties
(iii) Estimate the cost of equipment/furniture items destroyed by the fire, and
(iv) Recommend remedial measures to be taken immediately to enable the station to continue broadcasting.
4. The panel is to submit its report within 14 days of its inauguration.

DTSG/Bank of Industry Loan: Ministry of Commerce Releases Names of 282 Successful Companies

It is hereby announced for the information of the general public, particularly operators of small and Medium Scale Industries in Delta State, that the state Ministry of Commerce and Industry, has released the names of 282 Companies that would be beneficiaries of the Delta State Government/Bank of Industry Industrial Fund Loan Scheme.

All Companies in the state, who had applied for the loan, are by this announcement requested to go to the Headquarters of the Bank of Industry (BOI) in the state, located at No. 29, Okpanam Road, Asaba on Tuesday June 30, 2009, at 10.00 am for briefing.

The affected Companies are advised to attend the briefing in order to facilitate the processing formalities for the loan.
