DELTA State Governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa has called for improved legal service delivery to decongest the courts.

The Governor made the call yesterday (18/01/17) in Asaba during the swearing-in ceremony of Justice Vincent Ofesi as a Judge of the Delta State High Court.

According to the governor, there was the need for improved legal service delivery “in accordance with our democratic principles and the rule of law,” asserting that such should manifest in the decongesting of the courts.

Governor Okowa was speaking while reacting to a statement credited to Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi, a former Minister of State for Education, in which he was quoted to have dismissed the benefits of the visit of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and also insinuated that the Urhobo ethnic nationality was taken for granted.

Delta State Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa has congratulated the oldest reigning king in Delta State, His Royal Majesty, Royal Canon, Ovie Richard Layeguen Ogbon Ogoni-Oghoro 1, the Ohworode of Olomu Kingdom, on his centenary birthday which comes up on Friday 20th January, 2017 and the 29th anniversary of his coronation to the ancient throne of his forefathers.

Gov. Okowa described the Royal Canon as a man blessed by God to have attained 100 years on earth and still looking strong and healthy.

Okowa Sues For Reconciliation As Remains Of Olorogun Ibru Is Interred


The remains of foremost businessman, Olorogun Michael Ibru was laid to rest yesterday (14/12/16) with the Governor of Delta State, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa calling for reconciliation among Nigerians in strict compliance with the words of God.

According to Governor Okowa who attended the funeral service of the late Ibru accompanied by a retinue of political office holders, reconciliation was very vital for a virile society where love for one another takes precedence.
