Delta State Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa has congratulated the oldest reigning king in Delta State, His Royal Majesty, Royal Canon, Ovie Richard Layeguen Ogbon Ogoni-Oghoro 1, the Ohworode of Olomu Kingdom, on his centenary birthday which comes up on Friday 20th January, 2017 and the 29th anniversary of his coronation to the ancient throne of his forefathers.

Gov. Okowa described the Royal Canon as a man blessed by God to have attained 100 years on earth and still looking strong and healthy.

Osinbajo Calls For Stability In The Niger Delta For Speedy Devt Of Region


Nigeria's Vice President, Prof. Yomi Osinbajo has decried the neglect of the Niger Delta over the years and urged the people of the area to ensure its stability for speedy development to take place.

Addressing stakeholders at the conference hall of the Petroleum Training Institute, Effurun, during a fact-finding mission to Delta State yesterday (16/01/17), Prof Osinbajo observed that it was unfortunate that despite the huge contribution of the Niger Delta to the development of the country, there was little to show for such.
