The 2017 Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebration was marked throughout Nigeria today (15/01/17) with the Governor of Delta State, Senator Dr Ifeanyi

The ceremony was of great significant as Asaba witnessed its first rain
fall shortly before the commencement of the ceremony which took place at
the Cenotaph, Asaba and featured parade by the Nigerian Army, Air Force,
Navy and the Nigerian Legion.

Delta State Governor has called for synergy among stakeholders in the Niger Delta region in the tackling of the myriad of security issues.

Speaking when he received the General Officer Commanding [GOC], 6 Division, Nigerian Army, Port Harcourt Major General Kasimu Abdulkarim and his team yesterday [21-12-16] in Asaba, Governor Okowa said that it was imperative for the stakeholders including the security agencies, traditional rulers, opinion leaders, elders and youths to partner together to improve peace and security in the region.

To curb the worsening security situation at the Ogbe Ijoh, /Aladja communal crisis, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has warned that government would no longer tolerate any further outbreak of crisis among communities in the area.

Speaking yesterday [20-12-16] during an extended Security Council   in Asaba which included traditional rulers and youths from Urhobo and Ijaw communities, Governor Okowa said that government was losing its patience with the perpetuators of the crisis and would not allow the crisis degenerate into an inter –tribal war.

Okowa Felicitates With Senate President, Bukola Saraki At 54

According to Governor Okowa, the sterling contributions of Distinguished Senator Bukola Saraki to the development of Nigeria and the legislature are legendary and commendable.

As Christians all over the world prepare for Christmas, Delta State Governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa has urged Christians to use the season to show love and reconcile with God.

Governor Okowa made the call yesterday (19/12/16) at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Unity Model Parish, Asaba during the 2nd Delta State Inter-Denominational Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols organized by the Delta Broadcasting Service in conjunction with the Office of the Executive Assistant to the Governor on Religious Matters.
