Okowa Greets Prof. B.I.C. Ijomah At 80


Delta State Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, has eulogised renowned Professor of Political Sociology, author, scholar, academician, and institutional administrator, Professor Benedict Imeagwu Chukwumah Ijomah, who turned 80 on Saturday, as an elder statesman, an admirable politician, an influential political and intellectual leader whose contributions to the Nigerian nation in several capacities is indelible.

Governor Okowa stated this in a statement issued in Asaba on Saturday, November 26th by his Chief Press Secretary, Charles Aniagwu.

Okowa Salutes Former President Jonathan At 59


Delta State Governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, has eulogized former Nigerian President, Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, describing him as a committed patriot whose administration gave vent to the rule of law.

Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Charles Ehiedu Aniagwu, noted in a statement in Asaba that Governor Okowa wrote to felicitate with former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan on the occasion of his 59th birthday which comes up today, November 20.

“Incude Vocational/Technical Skill Acquisition In School Curriculum”- Ogidi-gbegbaje


The Permanent Secretary (PS) Directorate of Government House and Protocol, Mr. Edwin Ogidi-Gbegbaje has called for the inculcation of vocational and skill acquisition in the school curriculum so as to prepare the youths adequately for 21st century world.

Mr. Ogidi-Gbegbaje who said this today (7-11-16) while interacting with students and teachers of New Era School, Warri  on excursion to  the Directorate stated that the state government has put programmes in place to help reduce the effect of the recession in the state on Deltans.

World Diabetes Day 2016


It has been discovered that presently about three quarters of people living with Diabetes are in low and middle income countries, of which Nigeria is one and also that one in two adults living with the disease is undiagnosed of which majority are ‘Type 2 Diabetes’.

The Delta State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Nicholas Azinge made this revelation today in his office during his speech to mark the 2016 World Diabetes Day with the theme "eyes on diabetes."

Okowa Challenges Parents To Build Peaceful Homes


Delta State Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa has challenged parents to ensure that their families are peaceful as such will translate to a peaceful society.

The governor made the call today (11/11/16) at Aviara, Isoko South local government area of Delta State during a funeral service conducted by the Apostolic Church of Nigeria for late Deaconess Johana Agabri, mother of Hon. Prince Johnson Erijo, member representing Isoko South constituency at the Delta State House of Assembly.
