Delta To Embark On Massive Construction, Rehabilitation Of Roads - Ukah

Delta State government is set to embark on massive construction and rehabilitation of roads, the Commissioner for Information, Mr Patrick Ukah has said.

Briefing the press on Friday (21/10/16) in Asaba on the outcome of the state executive council meeting which was chaired by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and held in Asaba, Mr Ukah disclosed that the construction of roads was in line with the urban renewal agenda of the government.

Despite Nigeria’s inability to meet the June 15, 2015 deadline set by the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) for all terrestrial broadcasting frequency bands to transfer from analogue to digital broadcasting, the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture, yesterday, expressed confidence that the country is set to meet the new ITU deadline of June 17, 2017. It also said that the switch over would create plenty jobs.

Charles Aniagwu Calls For Developmental Journalism

The Chief Press Secretary to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State, Mr Charles Ehiedu Aniagwu, has described developmental journalism as progressive and urged Journalists to be involved in such to fast-track development of the country.

Mr Aniagwu made the call on Tuesday (25/10/2016) while addressing members of the Indigenous Newspapers/Magazine Chapel (INMC) of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, (NUJ) Delta State Council at their Secretariat in Asaba.

Permanent Secretary, Government House and Protocol, Mr Eddy Ogidi-Gbegbaje has urged public servants to make profitable use of their service time so as to prepare themselves for retirement.

Mr.  Ogidi-Gbegbaje who stated this today [25-10-16] at a send- forth party organized by the  Catering Department of the Directorate for nine retirees said that public servants should utilise their valuable time to prepare for the challenges of retirement.
