MINISTRY OF WATER RESOURCES DEVELOPMENT

The Ministry of Water Resources Development was created in 2001 vide circular letter dated 27th March 2001 with Ref. No.SGD.86/T/76 with the following responsibilities:

i. Urban and Rural water supply undertaking
ii. Dam development
iii. Hydrogeological and Hydrological Research
iv. Supervision of Urban Water Board and Rural Water Agency.

iMISSION STATEMENT:

The mission of the Ministry is to control, protect and manage the huge reservoirs of surface and ground waters, which exist in Delta State so as to provide adequate and regular portable water at an affordable cost and on a sustainable basis to all Deltans.
