The immediate past Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in Delta State, Dr. Peter Mrakpor SAN, has called on Christians to adequately participate in partisan politics so as to contribute towards good governance in the country.
Mrakpor stated this in an address when the Christian Political Forum (CPF) hosted the National President, His Lordship, Archbishop Prof. Solomon Gbakara at the St. Lazarus Christ Church in Ughelli, the administrative headquarters of Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.
Mrakpor stated that as Christians and people of God, it was more important to be involved in the political administration and governance of the country and the state, instead of seating in silence and waiting for those that do not understand the importance and benefits of serving God to determine their fate.
Mrakpor lauded the leadership of CPF and the members of the Lazarus Christ Church for hosting their president, saying that as Christians and worshippers of God, they should not choose themselves for the work of God, but should allow the spirit of God to determine who did His work for Him on earth.
He said that sometimes “we may not understand what we are commanded to do, but as we begin to grow in it, we will begin to understand and come to terms with what God has asked us to do.”
“As born-again Christians, in spite of your situation or status, God values you more than one hundred unbelievers who are not in Christ; the people rejoice when the righteous are in power,” Mrakpor added.
