Delta govt restates commitment to quality road projects
The Delta State Government has again expressed her commitment to building durable road network across the state.
Commissioner for Works in charge of rural and riverine roads, Mr. Charles Aniagwu restated the government’s commitment on Tuesday while on inspection tour of the ongoing reconstruction of 13.1 kilometers Ohorhe-Adagbrassa road, and the proposed dualization of the 1.6 kilometer Eseze Road in Okpe LGA.
Aniagwu who disclosed that he embarked on the tour on the Directive of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori charged the contractor handling the Adagbrassa road reconstruction project, Wiz Chino Engineering Services limited to adhere strictly to the bill of engineering measurement and evaluation.
He commended the quality of job being done and advised the project engineers to seek ingenious ways to mitigate the plight of road users who had to continue to ply the road while the reconstruction is ongoing.
The commissioner who also inspected site of the proposed dual carriage Eseze road later visited the Chairman of the Delta State Traditional Rulers Council and Orodje Of Okpe H.R.M. Major General Felix Mujakperuo to seek the cooperation of the communities.
Aniagwu at the Orodje’s palace commended the revered traditional ruler for the level of support he has extended to the Oborevwori led administration.
He assured the Orodje that his excellency, Governor General Sheriff Francis Oborevwori is committed to strengthening all institutions including supporting and collaborating with the State’s traditional institution.
The Orodje of Okpe while responding, applauded the commitment and efforts of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori towards the overall development of the state and pledged the commitment and collaboration of the traditional institution in the state with government to bring about sustainable development across the length and breadth of the communities in the Delta.
He also assured that he will not hesitate to demand the arrest of anyone who undermines government instructions, or attempts to impede government’s developmental initiatives within his domain.
