Born 60 years ago, from Oko, Oshimili South LGA, Chief Edwin Chukwunwike Obioha Uzor JP, MPA, CIArb (UK), FHNR, FICMC, FCIA, holds a Bachelor of Science Degree ni Political Science and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the Delta State University, Abraka.
A Chartered Administrator, Chartered Arbitrator, Chartered Conciliator and
Mediator, he is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitration (CArb) UK;
African Arbitration Association (AAA): a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Administration (FCIA); Human and Natural Resources (FHNR); and the Institute of Chartered
Mediators and Conciliators (FICMC).
Chief Edwin Chukwunwike Obioha Uzor JP is a Licensed Chartered Management
Consultant and has attended several courses and workshops on Leadership, Peace Building, Conflict Resolution, Mediation and Conciliation both internationally and locally.

Before venturing into politics, Edwin Uzor was a very successful business man with a number of incorporated private business entities, including COMCHUKS Ventures Nigeria Limited and Ecochil Petroleum and Gas Nigeria Limited, engaged in import and export of goods, and oil and gas marketing, respectively.
He also served as a member of the Board of Directors Upper Benue River Basin Development Authority in 2013.
Coming into politics in 1996 with the Grassroots Democratic Movement (GDM), he has been a member of the People’s
Democratic Party (PDP) since its formation.
He was elected State Auditor, Delta PDP, in 2008, appointed member of the Disciplinary Committee from April 2008 until 2012, and has served in various other committees which include PDP Monitoring Committee, Rivers State House of Assembly in 2003; Deputy Chairman, Delta State Elections Committee in charge of Delta North in the 2011 general elections; and Chairman, Election Management Committee, Delta State in the 2023 general elections.
He was the Delta State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party from October 2014 till May 2016, as well as a member of the National Executive Committee (NEC) and also the Chairman of the Delta State Caucus of the PDP, Chairman Campaign Council in the 2015 general elections.
As the chairman of the party, he delivered the State in the elections. While ensuring absolute victory for the Governor, His Excellency, Sen. D.r Ifeanyi Okowa, the PDP returned all the ten seats in the House of Representatives, three Senatorial seats and 24 seats in the Delta House of Assembly.
He was appointed into the cabinet of His Excellency, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa in September 2016 as Special Adviser to the Governor on Rural Development, Peace
Building and Conflict Resolution, was re-appointed in 2019 as Special Adviser to the Governor on Peace Building and Conflict Resolution and, after the dissolution of the Delta State Executive Council in May, 2021, he was reappointed as Special Adviser to the Governor on Peace Building and Conflict Resolution in June. He was also a Member of the Delta State Advisory and Peace Building Council.
A Justice of the Peace with traditional chieftaincy titles from over 13 communities within and outside Delta State, and several local and international awards, he has served as President General of Oko Community Development Union and is a Patron of several clubs and community-based associations.
