Chief Tony Amechi

Special Adviser, Investments

Born on April 6, 1975, from Aboh, Ndokwa East LGA, Chief Anthony Amechi’s rise from early deprivation to a hugely successful international business magnate is one of the purest and most inspiring examples of the audacity of hope.

After his primary and secondary education at Igala Uku Primary School, Ndemili, and Ndemili Grammar School, respectively, he was unable to continue his educational pursuit due to lack of funds and, in the circumstance, he found himself Ivory Coast where he served as an apprentice for five years.

Sadly, he was not settled at the end of his apprenticeship and he came back to Nigeria with virtually nothing, forcing him into various menial jobs for survival, including as a bike rider in Lagos.

All that, however, is now history as, determined to succeed and surmounting all odds, he pushed to acquire his Ordinary National Diploma and Higher National Diploma certificates from the Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi Uku, in 2012 and 2017, and today, he sits as the Chief Executive Officer of Wesco Energy & Engineering Limited; Taj Machinery Limited; and Liquefied Resources Production & Engineering Limited, with branches in the Cameroons, Ivory Coast and other African countries, and also in parts of Europe and America, all attesting to his strong will, exemplary vision, business resourcefulness and strategic prowess.

His tenure in esteemed organisations such as Liquefied Resources Limited in the USA & Cameroon, and Petrolog Nigeria Limited, reflects his dedication and impactful contributions to organisational success.

Interestingly, he is still on the path of educational pursuit for greater self development, being currently engaged in the study of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Benin; Computer Science at the National Open University; Business Analytics at Nexford University, Washington, USA; and also embarking on the study of Law.

Honoured with the titles of the “Ajuwa of Aboh Kingdom”, and “Onwa” of Ndemili, Umusadege, Amechi stands out for his passion for the development of his community, the state and the nation, and strong philanthropic empathy for the needy and less-privileged.

These took expression in his establishment of The Amechi Foundation (TAF), a robust and selfless charity organisation committed to the upliftment of marginalized communities and the provision of educational support and social welfare to those in need.

His philanthropic efforts through the foundation – from employing teachers and sponsoring students’ education, to building homes for the less privileged, catering for the medical needs of individuals, rehabilitation of drug addicts, and support for widows and orphans, have significantly impacted numerous lives.
