A man of distinction, widely acknowledged for his contributions to the development of Delta State and to nation building, Chief (Barr) George Orogun was Commissioner for Finance in the administration of HE, Dr Emmanuel Ewetan Uduaghan and, subsequently, Chief Economic Adviser in the immediate past administration of HE, Sen Dr Ifeanyi Okowa.

From Orhoakpor Community in Ethiope East LGA, he had his secondary education at Urhobo College, Effurun, and then proceeded to the University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus, for his first degree.

In the course of his self development he has added a long string of academic and professional qualifications and certifications from a number of top educational institutions in Nigeria and overseas.

A highly resourceful and renowned technocrat, community leader and astute politician, he was a Manager at then Oceanic Bank and has attained a hugely successful career in banking and finance, marketing, communications, media strategy and several other business fields in which he made and continues to make impressive marks in the private sector.

He once contested to represent Ethiope Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, 2019, and has continued to serve the course of the development of his people, the state, the nation and humanity.

Orhoakpor Community Youth Project, tagged “Youth Engagement through Entrepreneurial Development, Gainful Employment and Skills Acquisition,” by which he has empowered a good number of youths, male and female, with training and start-up equipment in Solar Tech and Installation, Crane Operations and Technology, Photography, Hairdressing, Catering and several other technical, business and vocational enterprises.
