HON JOAN ONYEMAECHI

Born in 1966, from Ubulu-Uku, Aniocha South LGA, Hon. (Pastor) Joan Onyemaechi (Ada-Anioma) holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Jos and various professional certificates from Thames Valley University, Manchester Business School, Oxford University, UK, and University of California, USA.

She started her working life as a Public Relations Officer with the Manufacturing Association of Nigeria and later joined an Insurance Brokerage firm in Lagos.

She came into public service in 1999 with her appointment as Personal Assistant, Office of the Deputy Governor, elevated in 2001 as a Director in Delta Building Society and later appointed a member of the Local Government Service Commission.

In 2007, she became a member of the Delta State House of Assembly representing Aniocha South State Constituency and, in 2015, she emerged the Congresswoman for Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives after which she was appointed Director General of the Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency.
