Special Adviser
Born in October 1966, Hon. Basil Okolobaowei Ganagana from Bulu-Angianma, Patani LGA, is a lawyer, astute politician and former Speaker and Majority Whip of the Delta State House of Assembly.
With early education at Bulu-Angiama Primary School, he attended Government College, Bomadi, and Oproza Grammar School, Patani, before proceeding to Rivers State University of Science and Technology, Port Harcourt, for his first degree in 1994 and to Delta State University, Oleh Campus for a degree in Law.
A grassroots and youth mobiliser, he was in the leadership of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Patani Chapter, 1997, and became the Assistant Secretary of the Delta State branch of the council in 1998.
He was elected into Delta State House of Assembly under the Peoples Democratic Party in 1999, serving as the Majority Whip between 1999 and 2000, and subsequently elected Speaker in 2001, a position which he held till 2003.
