Dr Ifeanyi Osuoza

Born on January 19, 1967, in the commercial city of Aba, Ifeanyi Michael Osuoza (popularly called Agenda), hails from Idumuje-Ugboko, Aniocha North LGA, Delta State.

He had his primary education at Nawar Ul Deen Primary School, Ajegunle, Apapa, Lagos, and returned to the then Bendel State for his  secondary education at St Pius Xth Grammar School, Onicha-Ugbo.

He proceeded to the famous Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi, where he passed with flying colours for his Ordinary and Higher National Diploma Certificates.

His quest for knowledge and a voracious appetite for academic excellence further propelled him to enroll at the Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Edo State, where he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, and Masters in Strategic Studies, a discipline in which he further attained a Ph.D from the same institution in 2018.

In the intervening years, “Agenda” embarked on varied robust and exciting career and employment trajectories both at home and abroad.

This includes working with the then Allied Bank of Nigeria PLC, from 1990-1995, after which he forayed abroad and was engaged by the Texas Armouring Corporation, San Antonio, USA, from 1995-1999, where the frontiers of his original love for International Relations acquired a new vista and expanded into the deeper and more engaging realm of Strategic Studies, in which he eventually obtained his PhD.

In his Polytechnic years, “Agenda” was one of the most visible, active and formidable figures in the robust and ideologically centered students unionism of that generation.

His leadership and administrative qualities were tested and honed when he became very central to the students union movement in which he served in a number of official capacities, including as Vice President, Office Management Students’ Association;

Secretary General, Auchi Polytechnic Students’ Union Government (SUG);

and Secretary General, National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS).

In fact, he was one of the national heroes of the Anti-SAP Student’s Protest and the power of courage, conviction and discipline which he showed in the face of the military junta’s onslaught on NANS, culminated in his several arrest and detention at the Inter-Centre Detention Facility of the DSS, State House Annexes and other Maximum Security detention facilities.

It was little wonder therefore that when Democracy returned to Nigeria in 1999, the overwhelming instinct to be part of the emerging national political movement compelled him to redirect his thinking towards politics and caused him to return home and became an integral part of the Delta State partisan political community, despite having carved a solid niche for himself as an astute, courageous and hugely successful entrepreneur and businessman.

A thoroughbred grassroots politician and a completely loyal and trusted ally and team player, “Agenda” became one of the young and leading political lights in Aniocha North Local Government Area and his sterling contributions to the fortunes the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has seen him hold several political appointments over the years.

He has been Member, Delta State Land Use and Allocation Committee; Commissioner for Special Duties (Projects Monitoring); Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Aniocha North LGA; Chairman, Delta Broadcasting Services, Asaba; Chairman, Delta Broadcasting Services, Warri; Executive Assistant (Communications) and most crucially and currently, State Publicity Secretary, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Delta State Chapter, since 2015, from where he has deftly and astutely managed the information, publicity and communications portfolio of the biggest political party in Delta State and Nigeria, matching and besting the opposition misinformation and negative propaganda machinery with poignant, factual and well crafted messaging which have positioned Delta PDP in the eyes and perception of Deltans as the party of choice.

A fiercely loyal party man, whose contributions have been recognized and regularly acknowledged by the zonal and national leadership of the PDP, and indeed an unapologetic, unrepentant apostle of Okowability, “Agenda” proudly carries the scars and stories of several confrontations with prominent opposition figures in his beloved Aniocha North, where concerted attempts to first compromise him and further less civil acts of intimidation to break him and reverse his unconditional support and commitment as a disciple to His Excellency, Senator, Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, the “Ekwueme” of the Universe, failed woefully.

A cerebral, meticulous and strategically gifted political thinker and humanist, Dr. Ifeanyi Osuoza was one of the key pillars on which the SMART Agenda of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s first term administration was anchored  for the delivery of the major manifesto of Delta PDP, and he also emerged as one of the central figures through which the robust and challenging second tenure mandate of a “Stronger Delta” was delivered.

In academics and profession, Dr. Ifeanyi Osuoza has several publications in various national and international journals to his credit. They include Journal of Intervention and Statebuilding; British Journal of Politics & International Relations; Journal of Peace Research; Foreign Policy Analysis; Journal of Strategic Studies; Journal of Contemporary Security Policy; and NOUN International Journal of Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution (NIJPCR), amongst others.

A dedicated golfer, with considerable swing and putting prowess, who has also participated in several high brow Golf tournaments across the country, “Agenda” enjoys the membership of several elite clubs, including the prestigious Ibori Golf and Country Club, Delta State and the Ibadan Recreation Club, Ibadan, Oyo State, amongst others. He is also a Life Member – National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), a conferment, which he cherishes with great passion and appreciation.

Dr. Ifeanyi Michael Osuoza is a devout Christian, a burgeoning scholar and academic, and a happily married and devoted husband and father.
